About Jeanne + Creek Hill Upholstery

Upholstery  is for Everyone: Reduce, Reuse, Upcycle

I grew up traveling with my family, as my Dad was  a pilot in the Air Force.  My degree is in International Relations: Business & Economics, which I used after college  to work in Germany and then for two  footwear companies.

I've always wanted to know how things work, how they are put together, and  how to figure things out.

Upholstery "fell into my lap" at a time when my corporate career was stalled and I needed a creative outlet.  I had inherited my Grandpa's favorite reading chair - and ended up working part time for the man who upholstered it for us!

I fell in love with the independence, creativity and interactions in this work.

That led me to purchase a 30+  year old business in Portsmouth, NH in 1999. After some time, I moved the business to the Newmarket Mills and that’s where you’ll find me today.

One of my favorite things is meeting new people and learning about the pieces I upholster and the "lives" they lead.

I live nearby on 4 acres of land that allows me to have a garden to plant and tend in my off time.  The Seacoast is so great for walking/hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming and getting out on the water - all of which I love!

Creekhill Upholstery offers furniture upholstery: old and new, traditional and modern styles of upholstery, cushion rehab or creation: indoor and outdoor pillows, boat cushions, slip covers and custom creations.

“We were gifted an antique table and chairs. The chairs languished in an attic for 10 years, due to the condition of the seats. The leather was cracked and painful! With Jeanne’s expertise, the chairs are useable and, more important, more beautiful than ever. Her rates are reasonable. These chairs were given a new life. Thank you so much!!” - Jeff
